Shower Drain System

Anybody know where the Shower drain relay box is located for an 450 Owners Shower Starboard side. It refers to the swithch and the pump both of which I have found, not so positive where the relay box is, I assume this provides a timed run for the currently inoperative drain pump.

Re: Shower Drain System

Fault proved to be failed seal on pump and pump was seized. Got it running but sound like a trashed gearbox lubricated with 4 mm gravel.
Replaced the less than 2 year old pump with a new one all OK.
Noticed they have a 3 year warranty, so will tackle that next week.
Still did not find the relay box mentioned though.

Re: Shower Drain System

Hi, this is a known problem with slightly older (2011/2012?) Whale Gulper pumps. Lagoon / Whale through my dealer have replaced my 4 shower pumps no questions asked. However 2 of the bilge pumps are the same so I replaced them instead and waiting for more old shower ones to fail.

New pumps are a slightly improved design, old ones, as you know, had the threads strip in the drives.

Re: Shower Drain System

Whale importer (BLA) is covering the warranty no problem (nil stock Brisbane) getting one transferred up from Melbourne. So will have a new spare on board that will make the next issue easier to solve. Will keep looking out for relay control box.
