To drill a hole in the plastic base plate in the bottom of the mast requires it to be accessed through the small side inspection plate towards the base of the mast. Just get the longest bit you have to fit your drill and skew it in. No room to fit right angle drill adapters, etc. Result is not pretty, but not seen and it gets the job done. Seal after cable is run through with Sika.
