Rain covers for deck hatches

HI,

What are folks using for deck hatch rain covers... most look like they would block the side decks...

Thanks, Rick

Re: Rain covers for deck hatches

I found mine at Seaworthy goods, but my hatches are angled on the side at roughly 45°. Maybe your hatches are flat on deck.

Re: Rain covers for deck hatches

Very timely post as our very own Bene505 has just introduced a new product the
"hatch dorade" which seems robust and allows good ventilation while keeping
rain/water out, has a youtube video of the hatch dorade on his Beneteau 50
dousing with hose. Will get back with youtube specifics if can't access with
video "hatch dorade" youtube.
Maybe Brad will chime in if around.

Re: Rain covers for deck hatches

Just realized this is in Lagoon cat category, anyhow thinking
would be good for all/most hatches/boats, worth a looksee.

hugosalt, your product looks great, especially if it costs less than this one:

Re: Rain covers for deck hatches

How much forward room does it need? I have an ATN Dorecap, but I need 17" in front of the hatch, so I can only use it on the forward hatches.

Re: Rain covers for deck hatches

jibstay don't know pricing yet thinking will be competitive, all very new.
But can say hatch dorade seems comparitively very sturdy...
Brad kept his hatch dorade in place last week when he
rounded Orient Pt.(eastern end of north fork of Long island) into Plum Gut
with brisk wind opposing current. He said with spray flying all over he thought
might have a drenched cabin below but turned out all was dry.
(sure was not designed for such use, but good test)

Maje , I think you will be good, Brad told me dimensions but don't remember.
If you have not yet checked the you tube post: "hatch dorade"
said he would have website up shortly, also think he is reluctant to come on here and
talk about as not to break forum regs with pushing product.
