Re: Love my Lagoon!

Hi There,

New to the forum and are closing on our Lagoon 39 on Tuesday. I was told by our yacht broker that the mast height clearance is 60'4". We went through several bridges on our sea trial from S. Lake Union to Lake Washington and they had to open them for us to get through. Probably not relevant, since I don't know the heights of the bridges!

We are looking forward to taking delivery and have loved the short time we have spent on the boat to this point!

Congrats on the boat.
I'm in Sidney on Vancouver Island.
Right on the Customs Dock.
Hope to see you out there soon.

Re: Love my Lagoon!

Yesterday I travelled in my 400S2 with my 90 year old father and my girlfriend home from a week end at a resort on Pender Island, British Columbia, Canada.
They called for a small craft warning, little would I have guessed a wind of 47.5 knots sustained 40+ knots for over and hour.
Great news is that my father thought is was a spirited sail and enjoyed the experience.
Almost 50 knots and pops is in the salon having tea, yes I love my Lagoon.

I feel guilty. My Dad is 89 and I haven't figured out how to get him on and off the boat??

The negative news about almost all things in the news gets far to much coverage.
This post is one that should remain positive.
If you have beefs about your boat go someplace else.

My reason for posting is to thank all the people that made my boat, I love my boat and the more I get to know her the more I love her.

I bought a production catamaran for my own reasons and understand the shortfalls along with the benefits. Everyone has a reason for making such a large purchase and buyers remorse is something to be avoided.

So share your positive comments and keep it light and jolly.

I will start off with

1. I love how my boat drains when I wash the upper decks. The attention to detail regarding this one thing is something I admire and would never have picked up on doing the boatshow circuit.

Have fun and from the design to the manufacture to the commissioning I thank you for all your hard work.
Good for you. Enjoy the magic that is sailing your own boat.

Re: Love my Lagoon!

The sun is setting, the wind all but gone.
Alone on my boat,
I am almost 1 year into ownership of my 400S2, I have not had any buyers remorse.
If I was to close a deal on a boat today knowing what I do now I would have the same boat.
I would option her differently but this boat has met every expectation and exceeded most.
No boat is perfect and this Lagoon is not perfect either but she is a wonderful platform to live in and sail.
For my needs and wants it fits the bill.

Re: Love my Lagoon!

Thats a great story about the sail! Wish we would have been sailing this weekend as well. We did get to spend the weekend on our new Lagoon 39 for the first time and loved every minute of it. Even though we never left the dock, we were in Seattle for a fundraiser and spent both days at a tradeshow, we began to learn things about the boat and spending some time aboard. We are so new to the sailing and living aboard and have so much to learn. Tomorrow she heads to Anacortes for outfitting before finding her residence in Seattle. We named her Mazu.

Re: Love my Lagoon!

We are 1 year and 13 days having owned our Lagoon 450 and yes there are always a few issues but overall we are sitting here in Langkawi on our way to Phi Phi and very happy with not only the boat but also the service given by Simpson Marine 😃

Re: Love my Lagoon!

That's good news tot. Especially given some publicity Simpson marine had with the L500. Glad there's 2 sides to every story and they're looking after you! Coming up to 1 yr on our L400, no problems, no sweat and wouldnt have it any other way!
Scott what factory options would you change?

Re: Love my Lagoon!

Monte,

I would add the power winch for the dingy
Deck wash down
Code 0
One bow berth
Storage in main cabin in lieu of sofa

They all sound good to me, but the last one seems a little strange?

Re: Love my Lagoon!

Ok Scottster, good to know. I dont have any of those but dont miss them. Usually pull the dinghy up by hand, had a gennaker but prefer a parasailor and I like the sofa!

Deck wash is handy. Code 0 or some other light wind sail is necessary to get the "fat girl" moovin'. Bow berth handy to store problem children, but no sofa in main cabin? In hot weather we spend most time outside or sitting on cockpit area, but in the bracing weather of BC, I would have thought that lounging on that warm inside sittee would be the place to be?

Re: Love my Lagoon!

My girlfriend just pointed out that the sofa in my main cabin gets used quite a lot, she also pointed out that most of the cabinets are half full.
