Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
Matagorda: We've been told June '17. We think that is marketing/over optimism on Lagoon's part. We think more like Sept. - Nov. of 2017. The wait time is OK with us and gives us time to replenish the bank account!

Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
Hi Jim
Seems like the sales have slowed down a little since the initial burst from the boat shows and promotions earlier this year. Last I heard the total sales were up around 130. Hopefully the factory will be able to stick with their June 2017 forecast for you.
All the best.

I think we may be hull #160 or thereabouts.

I was incorrect on our hull #. The dealer thought we would be around #160, turns out we are hull # 138.

Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
How many have actually been delivered? Haven't really heard much from owners of the L 42 on this forum. If we're up to hull number 140-ish we should've have some people with some opinions. How did the dingy lift system work out? When we were considering the L42 they told us at the boat show">Miami boat show that it was going to be a $10,000 option for the electric hoist but the manual lift was nonfunctional. Is that still the case?

Hi Jim
Thanks for the clarification.
We only have another 6 months to wait for ours.
I hope the next 12 months goes quickly for you.
All the best.

We are Hull #20 and expecting "Turn over" to occur in French water in mid to late August (Original date was mid July).
Looking forward to maiden voyage in BVI in late October.

Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
Man, I wish our 42 was hitting the water in July! We are right behind Matagorda, and are told a launch date in France, of mid December. Perhaps this will be moved to January-Feb? It sounds like they are a bit behind. There is a huge strike going on in France right now, from suppliers to delivery companies. This is definitely affecting the delivery schedule. I was told today that the strike is a month old already. There is nothing we can do about this, of course, but keep the fingers crossed and see what comes of it. Has anyone else heard of this strike?

A strike?... In France ? ... Surely that's got to be a rare event! 😜😜

Another day, another French strike. I think strikes in France are frequent enough, the ensuing delays should be calculated into the tentative delivery date at the time the order is placed. We've been to France a couple of times, each time some type of labor strike was underway.

Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
Hi there! Did a lot of my research before purchasing on this site so thank you all. Took delivery of Hull 6 in late June and have spent last three weeks on board. Drifting slowly towards Algarve for now. Currently in the Spanish Ria's and loving every minute on board. Overall boat is outstanding, incredibly well designed and in my view, well put together! To the question regarding the dingy lift - its a gem, real easy to lift and drop using electric winch. Hit 11 kts in 15-17kts of wind on beam while crossing Biscay using Code O and full main - had two full tanks of water and fuel.
Loads of space although kitchen area could do with more storage.
Happy to any questions.

Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
Hi Bec10
Congrats on the new boat, and thanks for providing feedback on your initial experiences with your new 42.
When you say that you use the electric winch to raise the dinghy on the davit frame, do you mean that you are using the electric halyard winch at the helm station, or do you have another electric winch installed somewhere at the stern?
Also, what would you recommend as the maximum dinghy length for the 42? I am thinking that 3.1 m would be about the limit to fit between the wide hulls.
Cheers
Tony

Do you have generator/ AC?
Factory installed 2nd water tank or did you add 2nd water tank?

Re: Looking for 2016 Lagoon 42 on U.S. East Coast to Tour
Apologies for slow responses. Currently anchored off island of Ons which is stunning!
Regarding dingy hoist, yes system is designed to use electric halyard winch at helm. 3.1 dingy should be fine but might be worth confirming with your dealer. We have a 3.0 Valiant. There is a note on the hoist which states the max weight to be 200kg (includes engine).
We have (2) factory fitted water tanks and fuel thanks. Don't have A/C yet but plan to get A/C, generator and water maker fitted in September - lots of room!
Best B
