Lagoon get together Whitsundays Australia 2016
Hello all,
Sue and I are currenlty sailing our much loved Lagoon 410 S2 "Sunshine" up the east Coast of Australia to the Whitsundays and points further north this year. So far we have met quite a few Lagoon owners also doing a very similar trip this year. If any lagoon owners would be interested in meeting up in one group I would be most interested to hear from you to see if we could get a large group of Lagoon owners and their boats together for a day and night of mutal admiration of our sailing craft and their voyages.
As most Lagoon owners I have met will be basing themselves around the Whitsundays this seems like the perfect place given the large anchorages that are around where a group of Lagoon Cats could anchor together.
Any takers ?
Greg and Sue

Great idea. Count us in. Will PM some suggestions.
You are quite correct; there a lots of Lagoon catamarans cruising in Australia. Many are liveaboards or undertaking extended cruises.

Re: Lagoon get together Whitsundays Australia 2016
We'e been in the Whitsundays for the past 4 weeks. We are staying around for Race Week & Shaggers before heading north towards home. So you can count us in if you plan on having it not much later than end of August.
Also Trev & Gaye of Baiha (L41) are here & staying around for Shaggers. Met Arkaydes (L380) just south of here, but not sure if they are still around.

LOL, yes but we'll all be motoring as none of us can sail. Our boats are so slow that I plan to leave last year. No doubt none of us will make it to such a distant location as our boats are all unseaworthy and will break up within sight of our marinas, but bulkheads are much more polite discussion than politics, sex or religion.

Re: Lagoon get together Whitsundays Australia 2016
Apologies to Trev & Gaye. I spelt their boat name wrong, it should be "Biaha". Just correcting it cause they get up me when I can't pronounce it correctly in radio calls & they don't need another excuse for "my shout".

Perhaps in order to make it easier to identify each other if we do make it, we should paint our boat names upside down on the mini keels. Because if we are not still very slowly motoring, sunk or broken up along the way, we surely must be upside down by then.

Hi Greg and Sue. Great idea. We hope to be up there in time for Shaggers Rendezvous near the end of August. Still at home but plan to leave this weekend.

Not this year unfortunately. Next year yes. Earlier I'd suggest. July?

Currently in Airlie Beach. Heading back to Mackay on Tuesday. Biaha will be in the Marina from 12 July to abt 27 July. 1st mate on board whilst Captain goes back to Perth for her Mum.
So any time August/September would be good, either side of Shaggers weekend would be good.

Re: Lagoon get together Whitsundays Australia 2016
Hello everyone,
sorry for my tardy response but this is the first oppuruntiy to write as we have been in a huge communicatin black hole once we left Gladstone. Have only just berthed at McKay Marina after one of those days. . Let me put some thought to this as I can see a lot of fun if we can sort this out.
Seeing so many interested Lagoon owners just proves to me we need to talk about how good our boats are to each other
