Hello all, well our little Lagoon get together was very successful. The overcast sky's, showers and strong winds deter not deter our intrepid group of Lagoon owners who arrived at Styles Point on the Friday.
In all ten Lagoons were in attendance with another six owners arriving by car. Represented were a Lagoon models L 470, L39, L400, L38, L420, L450 , L42 and our own Lagoon 440. Our meet and greet on the foreshore that afternoon was a great affair and we knew everyone was having a good time when the rain started but no one left. Fortunatley it was a breif
shower and the conversations continuned well into the evening.
The following Saturday morning it had been arranged for everyone to raise
anchor at 10am and then form a circle for a bit of a
photo shoot. Some very good photographs and drone footage were takan not only from the boats but form curious onlookers from on shore. A very brisk sail was then had by all as the 20
knot wind from the SE came in. It was a spectacular sight to see the boats under sail in such conditions.
Ultimatley we anchored off a very pretty park in Bonnels Bay where our land crew had set up the BBQ and chairs. Once again all the crews enjoyed a very relaxing and fun time on shore with plenty of
food and liquid refreshment for everyone. It was great to see the
kids on several of the boats also enjoying themselves and being part of the event.
While the
weather threatened we were fortunate that no rain came until eveyone was well and truly ensconched back on their boats. While this was a very informal get together it was great to see the Australian agent for Lagoons, The
Multihull Group, send some representation which was well recieved by everyone knowing they are still very supportive in assisting Lagoon owners regardless of the age of thier vessel
Our get togethers are not formal
events and relies totally on a hard
core group of owners arranging everything. To everyone involved and you know who you are, A big thank you to each and everyone of you. Your efforts are appreciated by all those who attend.
