I have been a silent lurker here for some time but only recently joined.
Like many here, I have always dreamed of taking 2-3 years off
work and circumnavigating. I plan on
purchasing & outfitting a
boat outright and will have ~$2,500/month for living expenses plus a slush fund in the event of large breakages.
I am confident working with my hands having renovated houses, repaired cars/ bikes etc. I am happy that I can learn the
marine specifics needed for
maintenance.
As regard to
experience, I have
dinghy raced for ~15 years and also done a number of charters so I am comfortable with boathandling,
mooring,
navigation etc.
I am primarily considering
Lagoon 380's and 410's but would definitely look at others subject to pricing at time of
purchase (planned early 2020). Are there any of you in the UK with these
boats who would be kind enough to let me take a look? I am trying to get a feel for the suitability and space offered.
