42: Lagoon 42 - New Rig - How does she sail in Weather

Howdy,

More Lagoon 42 questions. This time on the new Rig.

Anyone got any experience with this rig style (39 or 52 I guess) in heavy weather ? (Force 7 and up)

I see a lot about its light wind performance, but nothing about how they go with the going gets tough with this new Rig Style on the 39/42/52.


Request: Please differentiate actually experience from opinion !.

We own a 39 in the BVI's. Not intending to be disrespectful but in those conditions we don't have any sails up and are looking for a protected anchorage.

Perfectly understandable, and I that would be my preference as well.

Unfortunately not always avoidable in the middle of the ocean, or in higher latitudes. Gales can pop up. And this one isn't somehting one can pop out to a charter base and try !.

Personally I'd be happy to never hit those winds again, but it does happen.
