Lagoon 380 Not Being Discontinued

I've been interested in a Lagoon 380 for some time but have had concerns that they might be coming to the end of their manufacturing life (which may affect resale value).

I've recently spoken to a dealer who attended a meeting with Lagoon last week that there are currently no plans to discontinue the 380 in the foreseeable future.

Just thought i'd post this in case anyone else had similar concerns to me. I have no reason to suspect the dealer was not being honest as I made it clear I have no plans to make a purchase for at least a couple of years.

Well as a owner of a Lagoon 380 S2, I received an email implying that your fears have some ground.

That said, it would he hard to imagine Lagoon giving up the 38ft market.

Maybe there is a S3 series round the corner (joking).

For you, I would guess the question would have answered itself in a couple of years time.

Only the manufacture would know for sure.

Some brokers may argue that if it is true, that would not devalue a model produced by a strong brand such as a Lagoon.

You can PM me if you want more details. Strange we are both in Oxford!

Well. i wonder if the dealers where on the same meeting ?
Lagoon has for the last 2 years been working on a new model to replace the 380, but they have now boxs those plans, They cant come up with a better boat, to the same or cheeper price.
They where going to end the 380 prog, this year, But now it will keep on going.
Happy sailing.

Re: Lagoon 380 Not Being Discontinued

Makes sense to me. To date, I haven't seen a better boat in the 380 size and price range. Have you seen the weight difference between the 380 (16000 lbs) and the 400 (22817 lbs)? THAT'S 43% MORE WEIGHT FOR 5% MORE LENGHT! Someone needs to go on a diet.

I've had 380 hull #122 for 6 years and loved every minute of it. Well built, tons of room, sails great.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!
