L42 drogue attachment points

Does anyone have experience or know of an example of adding drogue attachment points on the L42? I've reached out to Lagoon France and have heard nothing but crickets.

Re: L42 drogue attachment points

I thought drogues could be attached anywhere strong enough? In anchoring situations I have learnt the hard way to keep them away from rudders and drives while in Croc infested rivers here in Australia! They get tangled!
They still work with very short ropes and can be tied in a way to keep it away from running gear on the back of a Lagoon. A short yoke between the rear cleats works for me.
My answer is any convenient mooring cleat will do. What are you using the Doogue for? Is big straining your concern?

Re: L42 drogue attachment points

I do not know where the cleats are on the L42, but I would start with adding substantial reinforcement on the aft cleats, over and under the fiberglass, with additional thru bolts. You want to distribute the stress on the hull.

I added reinforcement on my ex-Lagoon 450 cleats, but I never had to use them. The top cleat reinforcement plate extended past the hull and it had a hole to attach the drogue hardware. I attached a crude picture to give you an idea of what I did.

The info should be somewhere on the Internet.

Re: L42 drogue attachment points

^^^ Thanks for the pic of the configuration used on your 450. Unfortunately our boat cleat layout is different and I'll need another solution. Getting some ideas from members of the FB L42 owners group. Take care.
