Hi Rod

Thanks for taken the time to reply.

Unfortunately time was against us.

We finally received the model number CANDY GVN364TC S from Lagoon but was to late to research our options.

We did find a similar model was available in Hungry at €450 approx. But to far for us.

CANDY UK & IRL replied that 420mm depth was a

We have now gone for the Lagoon factory fit

Well at least we have the LAGOON warranty

Do you remember almost a year ago when this OP was created ?
Following the entire story was a lot of fun and useful.
See where Dave-not-in-Dubai-anymore is now!
Congratulations Dave, Hayley and Susan Ann II.

Currently 7th out 29 multihulls! Wow. Still just 24+ hours from start. But an indication! Enjoy the Jamon and chistorras!

Hey guys, just a quick one to say we’ve arrived safely in St Lucia and all are well after an incredible and unforgettable journey. I’ll update more as soon as the rum wears off. Thanks for the support.

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

Hello all, we are taking delivery of our new L450F next year, so are in the middle of trying to get details sorted out.
We have been reading posts on this forum, which are highly informative.
We find it difficult to get quick and clear answers from agent/factory, so maybe someone here can help.
1. What are the dimensions of the spot for the life raft (or what is the largest canister that will fit in there)
2. What are the experiences with Lagoon changing the specs of instrument options? We would like to have a larger plotter at the helm and some additional gauges (the larger plotter is an option on the 50) but are told the only way to do that is to do the lot after market at much higher cost.
3. Our boat will be commissioned at YCS. From Dave and Haley's videos it seems they were doing some work on their boat there, but we are told there is nkk access to do anything until the boat is launched and handed over. What's the story?

Thanks for now, many more questions to come.

1. W=100cm x D=75cm x H=35cm overall.
2. Likely None. You're right, you want a larger plotter, you'll need to install it after market.

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

That is very quick thanks.
We are thinking of Viking RescYou Pro 8 persons, which would fit by the look of it. We like the longer service interval with this brand. Any comments would be appreciated.

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

The container of the Viking (Google is my friend) has 80cm, 57,35cm could be scarce. We have the Arimar Europe Iso Offshore in a 73x46x32cm container, which fits well and ist much cheaper. Maintenance interval 3 years, too.

There are also other brands with 3 years interval. But the deciding factor is: is there a rule of the flag state? Is there a certified service where the ship is at the moment when the service is due? How long are the legal intervals there (in that country). What interval does the service company certify there.

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

Thanks for the advice. Checked with flag state and there is indeed a regulation for life rafts to comply with (not onerous). Also got some precise dimensions from Viking, showing there is a 2 cm cradle included in the 35 cm, so it'll fit.
That's one question solved.

Has anyone seen the canoe boom Lagoon is now offering as an option on the 450? We have a few pics of the 50, where you can have it also, but it's a bit unclear how it works with the lazy jack and cover.

Remember, we are on "ZE" Lagoon 450s thread ...

The Park avenue boom may have some advantages on the 450F, but may not be as compelling for the 450s.

Check on sacre bleu:
https://toomeyfamily.wordpress.com/2...of-sacre-bleu/
They have one.

Several 450 Fly have this boom (Sacre Bleu, Clapotis and i believe this one (https://www.google.com/search?q=2015...dsy6x8HxAOxNM:)

. You can stand on it, and will certainly help furling the main. With the right set of lazy jack and bag/cover, it is potentially a good option, while quite expensive !

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

Followed the links to the Canoe Boom on “Sacre Bleu” and noticed that it appears not to have the 3 x intermediate cars that are held by shot chord to the sail that my L450 has installed.

My sail set up exposed because having more Modifications done to try to improve the zip up sail bag fit.

My pet hate about this setup is the stack height of the lowered sail, if these intermediate cars are not a requirement and that large head car can on appearance be done away with for a single car this would lower the overall bag height and wind-age by a not inconsiderable amount.

Also note that this L450 has a Mast stay at the front of the mast as well, unlike my earlier models, what have they changed with the mast?
