Floor Rotten in Lagoon 420

Just got my boat out of charter and they allowed the fridge and freezer to defrost on the floor for several years. Has anyone replaced the floor and what did you use? Looks like plywood with a veneer lam. Also, the boat was set up with 220. I will be on 120 but not sure what to do with the inverter. Switch out? Is there a site where I can get LED's cheaper?

Thanks, John

Just try to contact them by e-mail, it is somewhere on the page.
They are rather helpful, and may be they have an agent in U.S.

Post your findings. We are in Annapolis with a ex-charter with the same problem and may be interested as well. Maybe volume will help.

Re: floor rotten in Lagoon 420

Removing floor and purchased Teak/Holly veneer on marine plywood. Floor rotted out as the charter company let the freezer and fridge empty out on the floor after every defrost. No drain to bilge. Cost of wood, $ 1500.00 and finish carpenter , $ 1200.00
Ripping out cheap lam counter and installing Corian with under mount bowls. Looking for better deal on led lights. Paying $ 20.00.

Still looking for a place to get hauled. Pleasure cove can't do it.

I used these thoughout my last boat, a Lagoon 410: Ampoule ? LED G4 12 led SMD High power 8~30v DC Blanc chaud - 3,95? - Ampoule-led.fr
They don't get hot and are good for higher voltage spikes. No interference with VHF or SSB.
Way brighter than the original 10w and 15w halogen bulbs.

Shipping from France at reasonable prices. Current price per LED light is 3,95 EUR

Re: floor rotten in Lagoon 420

For hauling, Georgetown Yacht Basin or Zahniser's both said they could handle a 420.

Who was your supplier for the flooring?

I've had great luck with MarineBeam. Used to have 8 LED for 10 or $100. Have been bulletproof. Notice now they only have 6 LED for 5 for $55. Still lots of light and only 1/8th or an amp each. I spent the extra money and replaced the two on the bimini outside with BLue/white switchable. They are great to shift the mood or find the boat on the way back in the dinghy. Also put 4 red/white switchable in the aisle next to the counter(not the 2 overcounter lights) - works fantastic on passage because red comes on first and it is lots of light to see everything without wrecking your night vision. Worth the few extra bucks.

Exotic Lumber in Annapolis. I put blue less on deck too. Looks cool.

Marine beam is where we get our LEDs also. Great customer service.

We have the same flooring issue but right inside the door. No dodger and if it rains it comes straight in. Dodger is at the top of the buy list.

Would love to see Picts of the galley when done. I want to do something similar.

Re: Floor Rotten in Lagoon 420

I glued a white vinyl piece of "L" channel above the entire opening from the winch to end of port side. That stopped the water from coming in the door and window.
The dodger won't be ready for about 6 weeks. I also glued two "eyebrows" under above the front windows. What a crazy set up. Water would pour inside.
The counter turned out real nice. I put in Corrian top with sinks. All one piece.

Great idea! We have issues with the front windows also. Didn't think about a diverter...

Did you ever get your floor replaced? I have yet to do it.

Re: Floor Rotten in Lagoon 420

We have not replaced the floor yet but we did put in weather stripping as a diverter. It works great! No more soakings leaving the salon in the rain.
