450: Elec Davit Winch model on 2012 L450F?

We're 1000 miles from the boat, and the electric davit winch needs to be replaced. Can anybody tell us exactly which winch Lagoon installed?

My 2013 450F has a Harken Radial 40... For the dingy davit... Hope that helps..

It does help, thanks. We determined we have the 40.2 STP EH since its it’s the black drum. It looks like we’ll have to replace it as the cost of a rebuild (by me) would be at least half of a new one.

We bought the boat in December, and knew that his friend pulled the winch apart because he said there was an issue with it; every part was disassembled, with a few small parts missing which may be in the engine compartment by the motor. The boat as a whole had not been taken care of; the PO had never sailed, bought the boat to sail 'round the world, his wife/partners left him and he lived on the boat at a marina for 2 years before selling it. So, 0 maintenance on everything was the result.


We had to return home so I put it in my backpack and carried it home.


When I laid it all out I found the strangest mess I'd ever seen; there are literally one or two holes in the metal body and the winch was full of sand and grease.

It looks like by the time I buy the replacement parts it needs I may well spend more than one could justify.

Don’t know; should’ve tested it but didn’t. Will find out if we get to fly down in April.
