Hi there,
we bought a ex-charter L400 recently an in the heads there is a lot of smell if you do not leave the hatches open. After some investigation we found the cause, someone has 'repaired' the heads / vents that prevent backflow to the
toilet, they are located behind the
fiberglass accessible through a locker. There is some brown mess sprincled around that definitely needs
cleaning, unfortunately one cannot access this area because of the one piece fibreglass wet cell.
My idea is to spray some detergend inside an use a hose to wash down the cavity and then drain it all through the
bilge. But what to use - it should not cause damage to the fiberglas /
epoxy of the
hull. I doubt,
water alone can't do the job properly.
Has someone has had a similar problem and how do you solve it? I guess it would be a common issue, because the piping is really hardly accessible, so such accidents seem to be waiting to happen.
