Well.... I'm back... the Vancouver Pilothouse 34 made a good fast run from Poole to Cascais... courtesy of a coupla F7's to 8's....
only thing that went wrong was Wheel Pilot failure which meant the Owner and myself had to hand steer from Bayona, N'th Spain...
Definitely NOT a fan of in-mast furling... its a PITA...

1st ever experience with one... and my last...
They are seriously hard work... can drop and reef a slab in half the time and half the effort...
This thing had full vertical battens and either kept crinkling up or jamming if you trid working fast... ie fast rising wind/sea conditions... litterally had to feed the outhaul inches at a time under tension for it to work... solo it would have been impossible...
Thankfully from Finisterre down it was strong N'lies so we flew down on just the Genny.... fun sailing... except when a wave jumped in the cockpit and soaked me just as I came of watch.... brrrr

Re: Yacht Delivery

Any idea what brand the furling system was?
I'd think the system myst be in need of servicing or adjustment... maybe some realignment? It can't have been operating as per design or they'd never be able to sell them.

Sorry Mate.... no idea... just accepted it was a heap of crap and left it at that... but then I am from the 'Dark Age' so one confirmation of my suspicion of anything modern was enough.... lmao
Apparently it was serviced last year with new bits added...
