West to East Panama transit

I have a sailboat in transit now L.A. to Houston, currently re-fueling in Manzanillo. Will be in Acapulco in a few days. Panama is about 17 days out. This opportunity is for about five weeks of sailing of a very comfortable and safe boat. It is not a paid position. The captain is very conservative and knowledgeable. Very easy going.

Re: West to East Panama transit

Glenn,
I just stepped down as the best qualified and longest serving delivery skipper out of San Francisco sail/power, and kind of wanting to get back on the water in a reasonably decent vessel. I am a former tug boat captain and these skills play into the canal transit in a crucial way also Coast Guard licensed to 350 tons all oceans and a tug boat of any tonnage world-wide.
I'm interested in joining you and am wondering where the additional sailing time (besides the canal) would be spent. I've done the canal 6 times (mostly sail) and sailed countless miles. Do you have weather routing or SSB (tornados)? Reach me at 250-954-0427 or master350@shaw.ca.
Best,
Stan
