We are a young, fit, American couple currently traveling in Oaxaca. We're planning on traveling for at least a year or two, and we really, REALLY want to spend some of that time sailing. We have limited experience (a few day
sails with experienced captains) but we love being on the
water, we're great cooks, we know a few
songs and plenty of card games, and we are the most agreeable and easygoing travelers around. We are willing to share costs, as long as they're reasonable, and we will bust our butts on the
boat. We handle stress and boredom with equal aplomb. We truly want to learn as much as we possibly can.
We are planning to
head to the Oaxacan coast in the next couple of weeks so that we can begin networking with captains. If you have any
advice about the best
ports to go to, locations of marina bars, or if you know any captains that are looking for a crew, your help would be greatly appreciated. We would love to eventually get to
New Zealand, but all non-US destinations would be gratefully considered.
