Two Responsible Females Searching for an Adventure

Hey,

Me and my sister, 23 and 26 (from Sweden), are planning a trip to South America this fall. We both basically grew up on a sail both and have some experience. I would say that we might not be capable of handling a bigger sized boat on our own (espescially not getting in and out of harbours), but setting sails and navigating the boat while at sea should not be a problem. When we where younger we went with our family to the Caribbean sailing a cathamaran for 3 weeks and we have also been several times in Greece with our family friends sailing their Bavaria 42".

Anyhow the ideal plan is to find someone in need of a crew sailing either from the U.S, Central America and somewhere in the Caribbean to somewhere in South America. As you can hear we are very open to suggestions, even a shorter trip from one country to the other could be of interest.

We are willing to help with as much as we can and of course we would all share cost for food etc.

None of us smokes, and this is not a party trip for us. We are both very easy going, social and used to living with other people in a tight space with limited water etc.

If you're planning a trip going south and need help making a dream trip happen please contact us! We would love to hear from you

Re: Two Responsible Females Searching for an Adventure

Hi there,
My name is Jon Ford, I'm a delivery skipper currently in Tortola, BVI and I have a boat to deliver to Valparaiso, Chile - interested? I plan to sail direct to Colon and then through the Panama canal to Panama city before heading south, coast hopping all the way. All on board costs are covered, food, marina fees etc but we share the cleaning and cooking and sail for several days without stopping so watch standing is a necessity. I hope to be leaving Tortola in about a week to ten days, so if you are up for an adventure give me a shout.

I'm not sure "responsible" is good here, this is Cruisersforum.

There aren't very many responsible folks here, and almost no adult supervision. What there is here is a pack of animals, rogues and ne'er-do-wells who will want pictures, preferably in bikinis.

I'll take that as a compliment.

I could do my patented Naked Boom Boom Boogie, but I'd have to go to the county line. They made it illegal for me to do it here.

Coops.

Be wary of anyone on the forum looking for those pix.

I'm sorry you didn't take me seriously. I'm a professional delivery skipper contracted by 'Direct Yacht Deliveries' to take this boat to Chile for a private individual. I understand there are many dubious characters using this site but I'm not one of them.
Good luck.

I reckon it's time to cut the stupid bikini comments and sexual innuendo, it's getting really old. These are a couple of experienced sailors seeking a crewing opportunity. More respect please.

Ange, normally I would agree with you, but they made the first post on the 24th and haven't been back since to read the replies. Perhaps not quite a serious as they first made out, however, happy to be proved wrong.

Point taken Pete, but even if they haven't followed through, comments on their appearance aren't the point. It can be a risk crewing as a woman, and it seems important to stay professional here.

Hi, I am seeking crew for a western caribbean diving adventure aboard my 52' catamaran between November 1st-April 30th. i will have some friends and family join me in Belize for a few two week trips. But, need 2 crew members for the season to help me safely sail the boat, help with Maintenance, cook, and explore the region.

Will start in Panama and visit San Blas Islands, Boco Del Toro and then off to San Andres, Bay Islands, Honduras, Belize, Guatemala, Isla Mujeres, Mexico and maybe Cuba. Will be surfing, kiting and diving along the way and looking for crew which have a love for adventure, nature, culture and experiencing food and culture.

PM for more info on this opportunity and currently interview crew for this water-sports adventure. Will pay for all food expenses and boat expenses. Contact me if you are drama free, down to earth, happy natured, heart based person which will make the adventure enjoyable. Due to the amazing nature experiences you have while sailing and living on the ocean, the places you visit, the people you meet along the way and the friends to share it with.

Aloha,
David
