St. Thomas, USVI to Long Island, NY Non-Stop ASAP

Hello all,

Need crew for non stop offshore passage St Thomas USVI to East End Long Island, departing ASAP. Figure 12 days at sea plus one or two prep.

Boat is well equiped Hylas 47. Skipper has 30000 + miles, mostly offshore. Is also sailing instructor and holds 200 ton Master, unlimited Oceans.

I pay on board expenses, you get to and from the boat. If you want some offshore sailing instruction too, something can be arranged.

You can reach me at sailingal<at>sbcglobal<dot>net

Talk to you soon

Hi Sailing Gal,
If you are still looking for crew, if I can get a flight sorted from Ottawa Canada, I would love to help you sail up.
I don't have a vast wealth of experience, but helped sail a friends Pearson 424 offershore to Annapolis from Bahamas last spring without any problems.
I work hard, don't complain, love to cook, don't get sick and keep a good watch, and am keen to get more offshore experience.

my email is entre2lac@hotmail.com if you want to contact me directly. There seem to be flights to st martin on Saturday I can get no problem, if that is too late I can look at alternative flights.

I’ve worked in and around the marine industry extensively for the past twelve years. I’m experienced in navigation including GPS, Chart reading, radar operation, as well as communication and docking.

I have plenty of experience with bright work and bottom cleaning and don’t mind cooking and cleaning either. I grew up crewing local regattas and I have a basic understanding of most marine systems.

Recently I crewed for Derick Woolverton through the Bahamas on a single screw LRC 68’ Nordhaven. I was responsible for moving this vessel during daytime and through the night both in shallow water and blue. I’d like to get more blue water experience for a captains license so if you need an extra set of hands I’d love to hear from you.
