St Martin to Tortola

Looking for someone to deliver a boat to Tortola from St Martin in a month or so. Also assist in hauling and storing the boat for hurricane season.
Also need recommendation of a surveyor in the St Martin area. Please PM me for more info.

Re: St Martin to Tortola

I should be in St. Martin in a month.... I would be interested in a down wind sailing trip to STT.. Don't know any surveyors in St. Martin though...

What yard are you thinking of hauling out in STT... And you checked the price in St. Croix at St. Croix Marina for hurricane season storage??

Might be /or not better but I would check.... And also why don't you haul out for Hurricane season where it is in St. Martin??

Re: St Martin to Tortola

I believe JMC boatyard have keel holes available at the moment, TIMEOUT boatyard is fully booked, Polypat im not sure, BoBys maybe have space available.

If you want a surveyor there is one in TIMEOUT boatyard , is name is Jean Claude and is the guy in charge of the SNSM Life boat rescue operations, here in the french side is one of the local surveyors doing pre purchase surveys and Post hurricanes boats, i dont have the phone number but if you phone call Timeout boatyard probably you get all the info.

Good Luck.

Re: St Martin to Tortola

Timeout Boatyard, got it. Anyone there that does inspections on stored boats to make sure everything is OK? I was thinking hauling the boat at Nanny Cay in Tortola because of my past experiences with them. But if there's a yard there that can haul and prepare the boat I would be interested to get more info.
We won't be down there until November, so hoping to find someone there that does this kind of thing.

Not sure if they are available but if he were, he could get you great deals with the many contacts he has in Tortola

Im not sure if TOBY have space avalaible , JMC sure have some holes left, TOBY request every boat to have the rig down , boats rest in wooden chocks and stands and are tied to ground to screws with webbing straps,
JMC probably let you have the rig up because boats are stored in ground holes, Polypat boatyard close to TOBY also request masts down, same procedure as TOBY, Geminga boatyard is fully booked , and in the ducht side you have a bunch of options to, like BoBy`s or ST.Marteen shipyard,
in any case hurry up mate we are close to August.
Good Luck.
