Crew Wanted: Seeking general repair / outfit help in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Hi,

I will be arriving in Fort Lauderdale shortly. I am a newbie cruiser and there are a few projects I'd be interested to hire an experienced cruiser to do (or anyone qualified). My poor experiences with boat yards are bringing me to ask here. Here are the top projects I'd like to hire someone to do:

-Replace starter motor

-Install wind generator on top of mizzen mast. (We have the wind genny, but need someone to mount it + wiring through mast to batteries, need someone experienced with rigging).

-Diagnose and fix refridgerator

-Rudder packing needs to be redone.

I feel your pain , I have had very few good yard / diesel mech experiences that it makes me shiver to think of hiring someone to do these tasks. I hope someone can make a you a good recc.
