Sea of Cortez - Boat Prep

Hi all,

I've just bought a boat in San Carlos on the Sea of Cortez Mexico. I'm currently working on the boat to get her ready to sail back to Australia across the Pacific. If anyone is travelling in the area and would like to come by, say hello, help out with some of the jobs on board in exchange for lodgings, feel free to get in touch with me.

The boat is 36 foot with space for about 4 including me, it will be a bit of a mess while the work is going on but still nice to be on the water.

I hope to be doing at least some day sailing and possibly some trips across the Sea of Cortez, if I can get some other crew who have some experience. If you're in the area, get in touch and we can hook up.

Cheers

Gettin hot down there soon! Got a bimini? Yeah, cruise the baja side for a while as your shakedown. Santa Rosalia and south. Also, There's a nice little bay just north of San Carlos... forget what it's called but good fishing. Also, I had real good luck catching Sierra out at the mouth of the bay at San Carlos... just troll a 3-4" silver spoon behind the dingy (near the edges/points) out there in the afternoon...

Hi Dawn,

I would be interested in helping out. I would really like to travel back with you though, then I would fly back (my own money obviously). Let me know if this is something that interests you. PM me

Cheers, I'll have to try those spots out.

Everyone had said it gets damn hot down there but I wasn't sure whether it was just people who've spent too much time in Aircon...

I'm starting to think they had a point!

The boat is in the work yard at the moment but I want to get it out at anchor ASAP for some freshair and the possibility of taking a pee in the middle of the night without climbing down a ladder.
