Sailing the Inside Passage Canada/Alaska in 2016

I am looking to help crew a sail boat for free passage up the 'Inside Passage' next spring. I am good cook, organic gardener at home, and photographer/artist, painting, sculpture and glass is my passion loves sailing and adventures. I am a senior but able and healthy. I have 3 years left on my Visa for talent people. I am from Tasmania Australia and have travelled to Haines Alaska for the last 3 years and have fallen in love with Alaska. This has been my dream for last 30 years so finally have opened up to the universe and hope there is room somewhere for me and my partner. My partner may not do all the trip as he has to work in Summertime but hopes to have 3/4 weeks with me and you. Ha! Love to keep this forum for the most important things to learn from crewing and get to know your experience if you have done this sail. Lucky you!

Welcome to the forum. To be honest, the chances are remote to take crew with little sailing and/or navigation experience on this kind of endeavor. Good luck non the less.

I have had 3 years of open water sailing and built wooden yachts as well. I sailed mostly 25' gaff rig called 'the Kindly Light in Tasmanian waters. I have also had 1 experience in tall ship but love smaller sail boats.

Maybe try the thread..."Crew Positions" and see where it leads.

Do you have a thread for seniors sailors? Thanks for the info.
I can't find out how to search for this or put a thread myself there?
