Sail in the Ionian, Greece in summer

Would you like to spend the summer sailing throughout the magical islands of the Ionian, Greece? Perhaps look for the route that Odysseus took? Visit village harbours with tavernas right next to our boat or quiet anchorages where we can swim in crystal clear water. We will be sailing from Aktio (10 minutes from the airport) to Corfu, then slowly south as far as Zakinthos or perhaps even further. Come for a week, a month or the whole summer. Shared expenses, shared work, shared fun. Send me an email or check my blog for more information. Cruising on Eidos

I reckon you should start by turning right and heading up to Parga, Gaios, Lakka, Syvota, Plataria, Corfu, Agni, Agios Stefanos and Kassiopi just to suggest a few.

However, if you choos to go south please go to Port Spilia and Vathy on Meganisi. They're great.

Thanks, Dlymn. I have been to all those ports and anchorages you mention as well as the west coast of Corfu. It's a lovely area and I look forward to seeing it again. However, I have not been south of Eufimia on Kefalonia yet. How about you?

2 seasons in the Ionian. We start out from Corfu and the lowest we've got so far is Kalamos. Just too lazy and too much to see. Maybe next year we'll bump into you at Fiskardo or Sami.

Hi Seagypsy woman.
I have just named my ketch Seagypsy and plan to live on board when I retire next year. Doubt I will be looking to go to Greece next year but have fond memories of the previous sailing holiday around the inner Ionian. If you get the chance go through the Corinth Canal. It is really spectacular from the water.

HI SeaGypsy,
I would like to join you next summer in the Ionian,
Like your plan. Can you give an estimate of costs to be shared
This past summer crewed from Copenhagen to Gibralter
Two years ago crewed from New Jersey to Fla. (USA east coast)
In between sail my daysailor everyweek.
I'd be looking to join you for at least a month, perhaps longer.

I read your blog and my philosphy and myself can be summed up
by the following

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

A Robin Redbreast in a Cage
Puts all Heaven in a Rage.
A dove house fill’d with doves and pigeons
Shudders Hell thro’ all its regions.
A Dog starv’d at his Master’s Gate
Predicts the ruin of the State.
A Horse misus’d upon the Road
Calls to Heaven for Human blood.
Each outcry of the hunted Hare
A fiber from the Brain does tear.

William Blake
"Auguries of Innocence"

Looking forward to hearing from you
Neil

Thank you for your replies, everyone. I don't have detail plans yet, but will be posting more information on my blog, so please keep checking. And if anyone would like to help with launching, you'd be more than welcome.

I just realized that my signature does not have a link to my blog and I don't know how to do that. In any case my blog is Cruising on Eidos
