Greetings, I'm currently in Panama City looking to assist with a canal transit. No charge, I just want the experience. I trained in Scotland for my RYA day skipper license and have sailed 2200 miles in advanced conditions. Equipped with life vest and boat shoes. No tattoos, no drugs, highly professional. Jan 23 & 24 would be perfect but staying a few more days to sync up is no problem. Going to Shelter Bay is also possible.

Sounds like for boat owners the wait is at least 96 hours. They recommend volunteering for a transit on another boat and hiring an advisor. Try not to get stuck in Shelter Bay, there's nothing to do out there and it's miles from Colon, which rather dangerous. best, mp
