north florida offshore to virgins or st martin, mid may

whitby 42, ok so after all these years working on this boat its time to get it down into the islands.
I'm thinking to take the offshore route from north florida to the the virgin islands or St martin.
This can be about 12 to 14 days depending on the weather, and there might be some waiting time for weather at departure time.
So this is a major off shore bluewater delivery, would like some very experienced help... with offshore experience and comfortable at sea to help me do this .. would be good if there were 4 total on boat.
Anybody interested? shared costs of food and fuel. you pay for your own travel
I'm looking to leave sometime in the next 2 to 3 weeks mid may latest..... any interest or advice is welcome. drop me a note...

Steve

Just did the trip from Miami, motored for 91 hours in 10 days of sailing. Motor east and sail anytime you can get any degree of easting on either tack.

While the advice is to go to 65W before heading south. I have done it twice once heading SSE from 67W and the last time working SE from 69W. Motoring when necessary and sailing when possible? The further south you get the more likely you are to get into adverse currents running north off the Bahamas and east off the Hispaniola and Puerto Rico coast.

Good luck

The further north you start the easier the trip, as you are more likely to get winds off northerly lows. I had a friend who sailed to Bermuda before heading south!

I'm just curious, why would someone want to help pay for fuel on an offshore delivery of someone else's boat?

Or am I misinterpreting the meaning of "shared costs for food and fuel"?

Well Lgs. Guess i was just thinking shared costs for a fun adventure. if you like just think shared cost for provisions. was thinking maybe 15 to 20 a day would cover it.

Hey Phil when you cut south at the 67w and 69w on your other trips what latitude were you at, was that out of miami or somewhere farther north? Thanks
