Newport / Bermuda / Antigua Departing Nov 16, 2011

A last minute place has become available due to a crew member pulling out yesterday. We are two already but need one or two more (non smokers). The yacht is an Oyster 66. The plan is to leave on the 15th evening or 16th morning weather permitting. To have a couple of days in Bermuda then head for Antigua. About 3.5 days to Bermuda plus 5.5 days sailing to Antigua.

Hello,

We are a couple in our mid 30’s interested in a position on your yacht. We currently own a 26 ft sailboat in Vancouver, BC and are looking to gain more experience before purchasing a larger boat.

We are extremely easy to get along with and have 12 years of coastal cruising experience. We are both native English speakers and I also speak French and Spanish. We are currently in Fort Lauderdale and it would be easy to get to your departure point.

Please let me know if you are interested and I will forward on more information if required. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Re: Newport / Bermuda / Antigua Departing Nov 16, 2011

I recently flew back from Hawaii from a botched delivery job. We were supposed to sail the boat from Oahu to San Francisco, but after being a few hundred miles out, the boat breaking down (autopilot stopped working, engine died, etc) and the captain being an alcoholic, i ended up staying awake for 36 hours straight and got the boat back to maui by myself. The captain was either sleeping, puking, or recommending we douse the sails and drift about in the Ocean, which i didn't not want to do.

That being said, I am available to go on a trip that would actually be successful. I can work for as little as $100 a day plus expenses. PM me if this position is still available.

This was about a week ago. I just recently got back but the whole scene was unreal. I wrote up an article about the whole thing and i'm currently in the process of pitching it to magazines. If you happen to have a subscription to sail magazine, write them an email and tell them to buy my article. haha
