Hey for thoses that have boats in and around orential and new bern but no partner or the other half is working or cant go...lets poll our boats and make a convoy or join forces...If u didnt know of it or missed it the gathering in New Bern this past week was awesome. I live in Apex. My girlfriend and I just recently got into sailing. We took a 2 day cruise with a friend of ours in the upper Chesepeake Bay and we loved it. We are beginners but we quickly got the hang of raising the sails, adjusting them, and steering. We'd like it if we had a closer connection with someone who would need a crew for short sailing trips but also learn more about the art of sailing.

On our cruise in the Chesepeake, we provided the spoils and help in exchange for the experience. We love rum and whisky. I play some guitar. And we have a passion for learning that keeps us attentive and highly involved crew members.

I'm not sure why my first post disappeared but I'm interested in meeting up with some other sailors in NC. I'm driving down to Oriental this Wednesday (Dec 11) to look at some boats for sale. Once I buy a boat, I'll be doing a lot of single handed sailing as my wife isn't really into sailing plus she works two-three days a week. So I'd be great to find some folks who want to join me from time to time. In the meantime, I'd love to sail with anyone who needs a deckhand.

I'm 60ish years young, in pretty good shape, non-smoker and I do love a cold beer or two after a day on the water. I did a bit of cruising and racing years ago on my 25' Columbia and 22' Harmony. I'm looking to learn the waters of Pamilco sound. I could also use some refresher courses on navigation if anyone wants to earn a few bucks teaching me.

Hello friends,

I live well inland (Wilkesboro), but my boat lives in Southport. We tried Oriental for a spell, but the spell wore off and we high-tailed it south. I'd also like to roll out a welcome mat for interested day-sail crewpersons, and will join the aforementioned NC sub-forum. Maybe happy to crew your boat, too.

Plus, I'm scheming a trip down to the Keys (probably take the ditch down and either Stream back, or vary inside/outside) Jan/Feb/Mar. Anyone interested in either crewing or making a multi-boat tagteam effort, float me a bottle message or something.
