Miami to Jax Fl.

I may need a crew member for a 48 hour run from Miami to Jax weather permitting. Leaving June 17th, 18th, 19th ? You will eat well, and there will be a flogging until moral is agreeable.........

Good LORD your boat is fast.

How many knots do you average?

Don't forget the flogging if the crew can't wake up for AM shift.

48 hrs. * 6 = 288 nautical miles or so. You don't have to be that fast if you're sailing straight through, do you?

It's 288, huh?

I'm thinking of it from the perspective of going 5.5 knots under power, under all the bridges, having to stop in Ft Lauderdale for a lot of stuff, then at Rick's a little further up and sleeping every night at anchor

Took a lot more than 48 hrs...

I guess going straight through would be very nice. One can dream of crew... one can dream.. ha ha

Hey; I think we did it in 3 days, but that was with overnight stops about 10 hours of motor sailing a day. If you go straight, I believe it is more than possible. But, it is certainly running, Not a single handed or short handed thing to do.

My wife, and I have left Green Cove Springs, and had the anchor down in 48 hours in Miami. We have also left St. Augustine, and had the anchor down in Miami in 36 hours. We like to leave the north on a good northern wind. We keep a foot near the beach, and pass through the shoals at the Cape. At Palm we nearly have one hull up on the beach. 1/4 mile makes a difference in current from the Stream at times. Of course this is with winds averaging 30 knots. So we have the wind gods in our favor!

We have made nearly as good a time coming north in very light winds, some motor idling, and the stream dragging us along. We are just 2, and manage well. I don't know if she will need to return to work from Miami, or if she can make the trip north with me? That's why I made need an extra set of hands.

Still looking?

Hi
Are you still looking for crew? I may be interested. I e-mailed you last week, don't know if you got it. Let me know.
