Hanse Sailor-Well Done! Seems like you are following your dream and for that I applaud you! My long term goal is to buy my own boat and sail most of the world as well.

Spent my early years in the US Military (Marine special operations) and was most fortunate to survive more or less intact. After I retired from the military I began life as an executive in the energy space, where I currently still work. Started sailing at the US Naval Academy and have continued on and off for the past 40 years, most recently on the great lakes. (A Shannon 42 owned by a good friend).

Have spent a fair amount of time all over the world and feel pretty comfortable in a variety of cultures with a diverse selection of people. Take my job seriously but don't take myself too seriously. Hope to be available for the summer and would love see if you could use an extra set of hands for your Mediterranean adventures!

I am sure you must have filled the boat many times over by now. But just in case you haven't. ....

I am 46, engineering degree and currently running a handyman and a computer repair business. My partner runs her own catering company. We are saving up to retire early onto a cat if we can afford it but would love some more experience after passing our day skipper earlier this year. I did 4 day delivery run over to France including a12 hour night watch as everyone else in the boat was poorly. Uneventful apart from the boom snapping off. That is all in terms of experience.

We both are gregarious and would love to share some experiences. Would love to know more.

Andy and Rach.

Hi Andy and Rach. Thanks for your mail.

My plan is wide open for 2015 in that I will start from the east coast of Spain in late April then move slowly west through the Balearic islands to Northern Sardinia, East coast of Corsica , the Italian coast and then south to Sicily and across to Greece and Turkey over 6 months.

Send reply mail to my personal mail box .

Re: Mediterranean 2015, Caribbean 2016 , Panama ,Galápagos Islands 2017

Dear Captain,

I am a 50 yrs old scientist. I have been sailing in Aegean and Mediterranian waters for 10 yrs on bareboats (2-3 wks per year). The last september I acrossed the Med sea with a 49ft sailing boat (Corfu- Crotone- Rocella Ionica- Messina- Palermo- Villa Simius, Sardinia- Palma de Mallorca-Barcelona) in 11 days. I will join the same boat in 3rd June 2015 from Lagos to Sardinia. I have been planning to join that boat during the summer 2015. But, my main dream is living in a boat, and (in the future) circumnavigation. For this purpose I have been trying to improve my experiences and to prepare myself to this. So, if the conditions could be adequate I would "turn" my plans to join you during your 2015 Med plan. I will possible be free during june-october 2015 for 60 days. If you would be discuss "our" situation I would be very glad. Nice winds, Yasar Kemal Erdem (skipyash) skipyash@hotmail.com.

Re: Mediterranean 2015, Caribbean 2016 , Panama ,Galápagos Islands 2017

Hi

Sounds good too good. I am looking for new experiences especially around the med. Been delivering catamarans since 2009 have qualifications but I still think it doesn't mean much if you don't know how to sail.. common sense isn't that common right..

Im a pure sailor meaning I like my colin archer 1891 designs.. use a parachute for and as a spinnaker have charts under my chart-table and am fascinated by windvanes,.

I am interested.. is the opportunity still open?
