Mechanical Repairs in Vancouver, BC

Hello everyone,

I am full time Marine Engineer (2nd Class motor STCW95) looking for sailing experience. I will be taking sailing lessons and courses later on but in mean time willing to carry and mechanical/electrical work for generic sailing experience and perhaps learn sailboat cruising life.
I have decided to give a try and live on a boat. I have already been doing this for 8 years working offshore on construction vessels. Also one of my hobbies is Mountaineering, I have good understanding of knots and ropes.
I am currently researching boats/sailing techniques, cruising life and how to be a minimalist. I know its science of its own.
I am not always in Vancouver area as this greatly depends on my job schedule and travel needs but if there's anyone who need some mechanical/electrical maintenance/labour I will be happy to do free of charge, just for some sailing knowledge.

P.S I just joined this forum, Hi to everyone and hope to make some friends.

Thanks,

Alex

Could have used you a month ago when we sheared our prop in Neah Bay . Down to Oregon now though. Next time we make the trip to Vancouver Island we will PM you to see if you want to come along.
