Looking for sea time and miles

Hi All,

I am looking to gain sea miles and experience in any way I can (short trips or long). I have been sailing as much as possible on weekends the past few years and hope to gain some real experience on longer distance voyages.

If you are looking for someone to help with a trip who is easy-going, a hard worker, and a life long learner please let me know. I'm currently in Long Beach, CA, but willing to get wherever I need to be.

A little about me...

33 yo / male
ASA and US Sailing keelboat certification
Coastal Navigation certification
A bit of a rookie at long trips, but do have experience on vessels 20-50 feet
Enjoy hard work and love the outdoors and the water
Ideally looking toward a further qualifications, need time and miles
Extensive experience with mechanical and electrical systems

Resume and references available, feel free with any questions.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Looking for sea time and miles

Would you be interested in assisting as I sail my Condor-40 tri from MA to FLA in September. This is an offshore OSTAR designed boat but my goal is to enjoy the adventure rather than do a high speed delivery with scheduled stops to experience some of the beautiful east coast anchorages and seafood. I would prefer one crew (maybe 2) for 1-2 weeks minimum so we get great at relying on one another as this adventure unfolds. I am familiar with deliveries (mono and multi hull) as well as big seas/winds out here in Hawaii. I grew up in NY so am familiar with some of the areas then lived in FL for 10 years where I secured my capts license with sail addendum. Where are you presently located. Chris L

Re: Looking for sea time and miles

Hi Chris,

Sounds like an excellent trip and I would definitely be interested in the opportunity to crew with someone of your experience. I'm currently located in Long Beach, CA, and free in September. So I can easily get to the east coast. I am unfamiliar with the east coast waters as I'm a west coaster from Seattle and now live and sail primarily in Southern California. However, I enjoy navigation and welcome the opportunity to learn and become familiar with the area.

Thanks for the message, and please let me know if you'd like further info. You can e-mail me at: dangundy (at) hotmail (dot) com
