I Want to Crew On a Boat for Duck Dodge !
I want to go sailing.....in someone else's boat . I am fairly intelligent, have more stamina than I know what to do with and have been sailing on boats since I was very young. I need to know how to get on a boat, do i just go down to docks? what do I do? what do I need to register? Worst comes to worst I make excellent rail weight. I am 5'11 and approximately 197 lbs with brown hair and green eyes...... Last part is a joke....... Kinda

Seems you thread isn't to hot but take a few minutes to search the forums. There have been many similar posts in which members gave lots of advice.

Duck dodge is a Seattle Washington race that occurs every week. Just ask around in the marina if you are in the area.

Re: I Want to Crew On a Boat for Duck Dodge !
Go down to lake union on duck dodge night and look around for people getting ready to go out. They may even need you asap!5 No big marina, just a bunch of hole in the wall moorages, after the races, go to a couple of lakeview bars, where the crews go. Ask around. ..... it still tues night? Id like to go again myself..... Its very casual and fun. Only time I ever got t boned was in that race..... And I had talked my aging mother into going! No registered crew.

Grrrrr.... I hate work responsibilities. Work should not get in the way of fun. I even brought my pajama pants.... Maybe someone will let me sail with them if I dress in Tart and Vicars?

Re: I Want to Crew On a Boat for Duck Dodge !
Hey Oldson, couple thoughts:
Check out the Duck Dodge facebook page. Make a post there and I'll bet you'll get picked up. Log In | Facebook
Check out the Puget Sound Sailing Group meetup. The Puget Sound Sailing Group (Seattle, WA) - Meetup I and others use that to grab crew sometimes. Plus, it's a great group for all kinds of local outings.
I'm full for next tuesday, but I still don't know about the last race of the season. I'll keep you in mind if I've got room.
Good luck! Duck Dodge really is one of those things that should go on everbody's bucket list. And yes, Pajama Night was a blast!

You can get on my boat if you feel like losing.

I would love the opportunity . Losing is a subjective term. There are no mistakes only learning experiences. I want to sail.

Wristwister. You are a kind and good man, would not have checked Facebook thank you for the information. I appreciate it. Now if Facebook would get over the fact that I am trying to log in from another device I can subscribe.

Don't worry Tager, as long as I'm out there you likely won't lose!
... and like Oldson said, in Duck Dodge "losing" is a subjective term. On my boat, if we complete the race without hitting another boat, and if I get kissed by at least one attractive young virgin at the raft-up, then we've "won"!
