Hong Kong –Singapore- Langkawi* November 2014
Hong Kong –Singapore- Langkawi* November 2014
I am leaving middle of November to Singapore and Langkawi, from Hong Kong on my new 41 foot Diesel Duck 382 Seahorse Marine, is a sail assisted trawler. I am looking for motivated people with experiences and skills in diesel engine and sailing, easy to go, ready to share works / shifts / cooking and other tasks during the trip. Fishing and fun and relax will be mandatory ! We should be 4 people for the passage. It should be 9-12 days to Singapore, few days there and 5-7 days to Langkawi. I am paying for the boat expenses and meals on the boat.*I would like to know about your experiences!

Hi, would you consider someone like myself without much sailing experience. I only have a Bareboat Charter Certification from ASA recently.

Careful of late-season typhoons. I did a trip about 10 years ago in November from Hong Kong to Thailand (though we only reached Vietnam) and got caught in Typhoon Kai Tak (2005). The weather can be very tricky on the SCS. Good luck!

Welcome to CF..... Will you be going via SUBIC as most of the Ducks do after being commissioned in HK?

I did, though the links appear to have expired. PM me again if you want the original text -- but really, the more important thing is to watch the weather closely. There's almost always a low rolling in from east of the Philippines, but it's hard to know which of them will develop (and, sometimes, as in our case, the Japanese meteorologists get it wrong).

Aloha Diesel Duck 382,
I am interested in your trip , and have plenty experience in power/sail boats. Current 50 ton licence Motor with Sail endorsement.
Live in Hawaii , the timing looks perfect. Easy to get along with.
