I am revising this post on behalf of True Blue's
skipper to add a bit more information. I will be
crewing with True Blue to Hawaii and offered to help the skipper find crew from there. Here is what the skipper is looking for:
True Blue III is a cutter-rigged
steel round bilged
Vancouver 38 built by Pheon Yachts in
England. She has recently been refitted, is very strong and sea worthy, and is fairly begging to be taken off shore. You can see pictures of her on my blog at
Because you asked....more info about Blue | True Blue.
We (True Blue, myself and two very capable
women crew ) are leaving Campbell River, BC for Hawaii in mid May. I will be looking for additional crew to carry on after this
passage. I plan to leave Hawaii for the Solomon Islands in late June, arriving in Torres Strait by September if the stars align.
As of yet, I have no off shore experience, but I have been with Coast Guard on the BC Coast for over 20 years, have done a fair amount of public assistance running a lightstation, and am a
commercial fisher.
I thought I that would look for an all female crew, and am hoping that experienced women step up, but if I cannot find this crew, I will be happy to take along any capable, balanced, and sea loving person. Please visit my blog and contact me there if you are interested in joining the crew in Hawaii or beyond.
