Galveston to West Palm Beach

I need at least one person, maybe two, to help deliver a ketch From Galveston to West Palm Beach, Florida. We will be going through Lake Okeechobee and St Lucie waterway. It will be a very scenic trip. I can cover some expenses but no pay, per say. Anyone needing sea miles and experience?

It varies, need to check with the US Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville district.

I would love to join you for the Lake Okeechobee and St Lucie waterway leg. I am keel boat certified and could use the experience. I live in Palm Coast.

Re: Galveston to West Palm Beach

Sorry I've not gotten back to you all. I have two guys going to bring the boat to West Palm Beach. My first thought of going through Lake Okeechobee is a bust due to the mast height. Bridge restrictions are 58' mast is 63'. It would be fun to bring it through by heeling it over with a water bag on the boom. I'd try it if it was one bridge and I were onboard. Unfortunately it's more than one bridge.

I guess they will have to go around Cay West. It adds 2 days maybe.

Thanks for all your interest. Boat is a Vagabond 47 "Paradise".

Re: Galveston to West Palm Beach

Barring any problems, allow about 10 days of sailing between Galveston and West Palm Beach, going around the Everglades and Key West. Have fun! Mauritz
