Bit the bullet and sailed straight through. The hairiest part of the trip was when a squall hit halfway through the jetties at Galveston. 4 am, sleep deprived, surrounded by boats transiting both in and out while my radar
was useless in the pounding rain.
Followed the bright stern lights of a tug in front of me and my plotter until we were above Pelican Cut and dropped the hook a couple hundred yards from the ship channel for a much needed 4 hour nap.
I am sitting under the ac in a slip in Bayland Marina looking forward to kicking back a day or 2.
