I need three crew for a trip to Bermuda departing late in July. It should take three weeks +. We will not leave if there is a hurricane anywhere in the Atlantic. My boat is a Columbia 41. I need two watch standers and one Life Support Engineer (cook). Respond if interested. Offshore experience is nice but not required.

Sam-I wish I could be available on this short notice; I'm getting the ocean passage itch again, and could manage a week or 10 days in the fall. If you are doing another leg to the south post-hurricane let me know:

25 years sailing experience
2009 - crewed a 52' ketch transatlantic from NY.
2007 - crewed a 42' IP from USVI to Bermuda
Lots of coastal passage and racing experience.
Pretty good provisioner and cook (though I would want to share duties with at least one other)
Architect in 'real' life.

Anyway...best of luck on this passage!

I am an architect too. Imagine that. Work has been rather slow for the past 8 months and this seem to be a good time to take a leave of absence. I had thought of going to Antigua in the fall. But if I do it would be the first leg of a much longer trip. I understand your reluctance to go off shore in the hurricane season. I am not too keen on it myself. Let's keep in touch.
