first a hello then an offer

well hello, i just joined here as you can see
<---

this is a strange offer.... i think

i am 36 YO and former navy with some sailing experience when younger ( went to and worked at a camp on the water for years ) my wife is 28 and never been on a real boat. i want to get her in to sailing, future live aboards maybe. i love the water and loved sailing when i was younger.

i would love to find a short cruise being a crew ( both the wife and i ) for up to about a month, we get along great. she is a diabetic who is totally under control, and i happen to be a laid off electrician. this would benefit every one, i would get a refresher and she would learn. we live in maryland and could get pretty much anywhere with in a few states. we would expect no pay and would chip some for our own food ( basicly our snacks and special desires ) neither of us drink so a nice savings there. she is also a good cook. and we love camping so living with little is prefectly fine with us.

basicly we will sail for food and learning.

scotty,
Welcome aboard. I do not think your offer is strange at all. Search the forum, there have been requests from people needing a crew. I do not have a plans for a cruise at this time.

Scotty,

I'm also Navy, 37 years old also. My recently Purchased 40 foot steel Ketch is in need of crew. By this October the boat will be in the Hampton Roads area. It's currently undergoing a bottom job, a diesel refit, and topsides paint. Let me know if you're interested in heading further south by late october. My plans aren't exactly in stone, but for discusion purposes, lets talk.

Pictures.
