I had been looking for crew but wanted them committed by sometime in the summer to get some time in my boat
and see if the crew was suitable for the journey to the Carib. As no one but those who wanted to be paid answered I gave up. I would never take a walk on crew no matter how much experience they had. I've been on deliveries where the captain
took some non sailors aboard and all they did essentially is get in the way and consume resources. Then I realized that when you sail offshore
you need crew who contribute and get it and you get on with them.
I'm going to try to do this next year and perhaps start early. But it seems as if people wait till summer fun us over and look for a boat
to hop on. I saw lots of this when I cruised in the Caribbean
... boat hitch hikers. Not for offshore
on my boat.
