Facebook Crew and Yacht Finder

Hello All,

I hope I'm not posting this thread under the wrong category. I've started an open facebook group to connect crew and captains. Since a lot of people have facebook, I thought it would be a good way to "meet" prospective crew and yacht captains. So far there are only 29 members, but there is a possibility to make this group really large and useful for crew finding...

Here is the link: Crew and Yacht Finder | Facebook

Feel free to join,

Brennan

I'd join.... but I'd have to become a Facebook member and that I'm not happy to do... its too open to abuse and hacking for my comfort/liking...
But.. for those happy to play on there... its a great idea... have fun..

Good Idea

Facebook is only as dangerous as you allow it to be. Don't give it any info you don't want out there. It is a great way to catch up with people you have not seen for awhile.

Thats what I mean... who needs it...
People I like know where I am... and/or how to find me...
Thats the beauty of boats too... only people YOU WANT to see you get to see you...

The Facebook Yacht and Crew finder is growing! We are up to 111 members, but we need more to make it a useful group.

Feel free to join,

Simple, keep your personal info to a minimum. Some people put EVERYTHING up, date of birth, town they live in, personal stuff, etc. It doesn't take long for a crook to get their full addy and then use the details for bad stuff.

I'm a member, but I don't have loads of open stuff on there, dont even put where i'm living! It's great to keep intouch with all those random 'minor friends' if used with some common sence thats all.

great idea, is there any way that available crew could be rated? For instance, I looked at the group and saw someone that I know and have sailed with, I know he is competent and safe, I wish there was a way to let others know so able seamen are noted and dangerous dingbats stay ashore.
