Sometime in May time frame I will be trucking my 46 from CA to Galveston
there abouts and sail to Fort Lauderdale stopping in Key West
looking for crew, also will be sailing into Bahamas.
I need strong winch grinder or two for the crossing and would like to develop
some friends in the South Florida area
Hello my name is Huntre Sarver. I would love join you and this exciting adventure. My experience on offshore, I was a first mate on several fishing charters out of Cape Hatteras during my college years and still once or twice a year. I lived in South Florida and we use to sail to the Bahamas the weekends just for fun. I have also 2002 66' Oyster from Fort Lauderdale to Boston and back twice with a very nice retired gentleman who has navigated around the world. Yes, that is my dream one day.
I have no criminal back ground and a very good personality. Please me with any questions or concerns via email (sarverh@huntres.com) or 540-797-0024.
Sincerely,
Huntre
Just a thought, you might want to reconsider Galveston and go to the Corpus Christi or Brownsville area. Unless you catch a norther (and they are no fun), Corpus Christi puts you quite a bit further south for your trip. Brownsville isn't great for commissioning. Corpus Christi - actually the Aransas Pass/Rockport area - has several great yards for commissioning. Including House of Boats, which will let you work on your own boat.
