If I were to be one of the crew, I might also vote for the South Pacific or better yet the Solomon Islands.

That crew did not follow The Code.

I'm admittedly Politically naive, but I took it to be the "tea party" was being referred to.

I had the boat built in France in 1982, not a handout.

I guess it depends on which part of the country you are in. I don't want to say what it refers to (kind of gross)in some of the places I've lived (admittedly, for someone who is not gay, I sure have ended up living in a lot of gay population centers).
You would not be appreciated for using that word in normal conversation in those places. I'm not sure why people started using a gay slur (it sure predates the Tea Party) to refer to a political group, so I will leave that to the ones who do to explain.

So it seems the OP has a definition for democratic outside the realm of politics. Even more curious now to find out what they mean.

Not sure you'll get voluntary compliance. Best to enact a mandatory regulatory scheme.

Re: Democratic Crew Wanted - Key West to SF
So I see why you call it a Democratic crew and later clarify it that the Democratic rule is under the pirate code. So your kind of Democratic code means some people are more equal than others. You Sir under the guise of a Democrat suggest that you believe in the unequal distribution of wealth. This is very clear in the following article of the Pirates Code.
X. The Captain and Quartermaster to receive two shares of a prize: the master, boatswain, and gunner, one share and a half, and other officers one and quarter.

Democratic seems consistent no matter what code it falls under. Everybody is treated equally except for those who are not, namely the ones in charge of everyone else. But wait, isn't that the same as Republican??
