Re: delivery capt needed

Not really the boat for that kind of Ocean sailing IMHO. OK so I'm a wimp, but I have delivered several Bavarias of this size and I have come to the conclusion they are built for light cruising rather than Ocean passages.

Shipping it would make sense but the cost may be prohibitive......

My wife and I could do this for you. My rates are $275 per day plus all expenses. What is your time line. If you are interested please send me a pm. Would love to do this for you.

Re: delivery capt needed

Sir
how many days do you think it would take to go from med around africa and across the indian ocean to Maylasia? Please email ; to my current email ; zigzaging2002@yahoo.com
also another sailer stated that a Bavaria is not really built for trans ocean voyages; I really dont want to endanger others lives if that is the case! How do you feel about a Bavaria 37 making this voyage?

So that's not going to leave any change out of $30,000 - probably cheaper to ship with less chance of damage.

Re: delivery capt needed

My dog and I will deliver your boat for $200 a day, plus Kibbles. We don't have any qualifications or experience, either.

Re: delivery capt needed

It's that or sell where it is and buy one there. It's a loooong way from the Med to Malaysia....

Hell, he's $25 a day cheaper than I am...

Re: delivery capt needed

OP, please ignore the negative comments on here. I don't know what's got into this crowd.

First of all: there's nothing wrong with your boat for a voyage like that. People have done much more challenging trips on much smaller and less seaworthy boats. If I had time, I would do your delivery for free . . . Alas I don't even have time to sail my own boat as much as I want.

Second: delivery captaining is -- unfortunately for the captains -- a buyer's market. If you put an advertisement in one of the crew exchange boards you will be deluged by offers. I would think that $100 a day would be about enough. Just be very careful to choose someone with the right skills and background. Our very own Phil (Boatman61) I believe is in this business.

It's a pathetic amount of money for someone with highly developed skills, but the market is the market.

Not putting you down. You need to make a living...

I would sell it here and buy something else there. A lot of stuff can and will get worn out on that trip.
