Day sailing partners wanted near Oriental NC
I am seeking people who want to sail on my Dufour 31. Male or female, young or old is no matter. As long as you can handle a boat pole and LEARN how to tie a line (rope) and flake a sail you are "in there"!
I mostly need help getting to and from the dock and lifting and lowering sails.
No experience required, but some would be helpful!
I live in Salisbury NC and travel to the boat and usually spend 2-4 days there, might even be able to give you a lift if it is not TOO far out of the way!
I usually sleep in the pilot berth or the salon so if you want to crash in the V berth it is open and available! I can accommodate 2 or 3 people if that many want to come along!
There is no pay involved and I am not charging anything, just want to sail!!
You will need to provide your own food and beverages. I do drink a bit o rum but not till we are tied up at the dock! ; ) 420 acceptable.

Re: Day sailing partners wanted near Oriental NC
I'd love to join you. I'm in Raleigh and have a lot of free time during the week. Weekends I'm often busy shooting weddings (I'm a photographer) but I'm not tied up every weekend.
I sailed quite a bit back in the late 70's when I lived in Fl. I'm looking to purchase another boat and keep in Oriental, but I've never sailed out of there before so I'm eager to learn the waters.
I'm not a rum drinker but I do enjoy beer! I'm happy to pay my own way. I also grill a mean steak.
Jim

Re: Day sailing partners wanted near Oriental NC
I live in Oriental, am reasonably fit, 67 yo and retired. I would be interested in a casual, pick up sail on a nice day, but not a routine thing. I can go most days, including weekends.
Send me a PM if you are interested and I will send contact info.
Where do you keep your boat?
David

Re: Day sailing partners wanted near Oriental NC
This sounds like a good opportunity, and if you still need crew, I am interested and wish you would consider me. I'm retired military so I have no time constraints. I am usually available. I have taken several ASA sailing courses and have gained some experience crewing for professional captains on boat relocations. I am always looking for opportunities to learn. I live in Garner NC, just outside Raleigh, and if your route to Oriental takes you near there, that would be a huge help, since my wife and I have one car. My email is moorebrucem(at)earthlink(dot)net. Thank you. Bruce Moore

Re: Day sailing partners wanted near Oriental NC
Hubs and I are newbies, sailing our own 30ft Clipper Marine on Lake Kerr most weekends for the past 6 months, can definitely handle all the basics.... Would love to put in some time with a more experienced sailor, AND share your rum.
Cheers!
Mo Stone
