When I was living down there, I lived out in the Oakland Park section, not down by the fancy pants Las Olas. Now if you want some cheap real estate and PLENTY of unsavory characters... that's the place! ha ha ha
Also know the owner of all the Subway shops in the city and landlord of the SSCA from my time spent there.
It's a good area to get into marine stuff, that's for sure.
This chick is a deadbeat. I sent her a whole damn eBook called the "Yachtie Bible", which is *the* guide to getting into the industry. Not even a thanks...
Ahhh... you can really get loose and comfortable in here without the "mod" necktie on.

The one I really miss is Tugboat Annie's on the Dania Cut.

Aye mate, I miss that one too.
They changed owners a few times, been there before and after but not the same.
It was fun however when we had an appointment for a Playboy Marine haul-out, got there early and tied up to Tug-boat Annies for Lunch, then left 5 minuttes before the haul, still chewing the cheese burgers as we let go the dock lines.
Good old days...I Guess.
(Tears in my eyes now that you mentioned Tug-Boat Annies... )

Boy was this thread hi-jacked.
A young lady seeking info about crewing and we get 33 posts with almost everyone talking about themselves

Del, seeing as it is good lighthearted fun at the mo and this is not a high volume Forum, I'll keep an eye on it, and after it dries up, I'll delete all the off topic part.

Well, the young lady disappeared.
The thread kept on going after we saw a picture of her.
Thread creep is kind of normal for sailors with short attention spam....

mr. alan wheeler, administrator.
where have i come???? i would never try to be an administrator at any forum, and i'm not anyone to judge anybody, but... was that comment necessary? i don't think so, and indeed you all administrators should stop topics starting like "cute boy/girl fun-loving". i guess this shows off that there might be a niche market for cruiser freaks getting a bite of fresh meat.
at the same time, that must offend people willing to crew on our boats, willing to work hard and get some satisfaction (not the one that some freaks may think!)
thanks for your attention.

Mr. Carlitos, unspecified
We don't know where your from?
But this young lady was discussed in our admin forum page shortly after her first post and it was decided that she hadn't broken any of the "RULES" and to be fair to all aboard we had to allow her the opportunity to seek employment. No one has made any direct comment to her that was out of line and all within the RULES. Saying she's not purdy might be questionable. But neither are a lot of the boats on here.
So, it stands on! ..............................................._/)

hi delmarrey,
i'm from spain, (if that matters), and since you administrators accept this niche market, nice fishing!
I, as an owner, never considered being cute an interesting skill for my crew, and will keep on this way.
thanks for your attention.

I think if someone posts in a public forum "ads" like this the outcome is quite predictable and besides the fun some people will go a little over board with their comments and some will help.
I think the moderators here are doing a great job in general and some fun is always permitted.
But thats only my 2 Rupies (Indian currency)
Regards
Michael

Inthewind, we try hard to keep our bus out of the water, but don't always succeed. Actually, it seems drawn to water, which is why we're planning to move aboard a boat in about 5 years. ... I am disappointed that the cute, fun-loving gal never returned to the forum to let us know if she found someplace to crew. Maybe she's off sailing. I'll continue to wait with bait(ed) breath for her return. -Louise
