Classic Yacht Race

Have a look at the web site "Classic Channel Regatta" for details and dates for the event. We start in Dartmouth UK and race to Paimpol in Brittany France and then on to the island of Gurnsey.I need crew for the complete event. Someone who can sail trim and steer would be great.Navigation skills are not needed. The event attracts over 75 Classic Yachts, Mine is an Olin Stephens designed Tartan 34 C.The only cost is a yacht kitty for food and share or actual expences. This would be a great summer holiday starting in early July.Send your details and i will get back to you, Good Sailing, Richard.

Re: CLASSIC YACHT RACE

Hello Richard,
I've just seen your post and i'm interested in joining you.
I live just outside Totnes and sail a wayfarer dingy out of Stoke Gabriel. I'm keen to get out of estuaries and get some experience on blue water. I've had some experience of yacht sailing/racing and have recently taken part in the triangle races plymouth-falmouth-fowey. Getting the hang of trimming, happy to helm and do most things with some direction. I'm on Find a Crew as Murdo Jamieson. Perhaps you could send me a few details about you boat & crew plans for the race.
Thanks, Murdo

Re: CLASSIC YACHT RACE

Hi Richard
I am a 17 year old student from Wiltshire and i'am also very interested in joining you for your journey. I have got about 60hrs sailing experience around the Solent on board 72ft challenger yachts with the tallships organisation. During which i have learnt a lot on top of dingy knowledge I have learnt when i was younger sailing on local lakes. I have always been very keen to sail and been interested in sailing and water sports and really enjoy it. I am looking to gain some more experience especially out at sea a bit more. I would love to join you it sounds great. Email me at ross_perchard@hotmail.com with any information.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Ross
