Have you considered the rhumbline route from St. Martin to the Azores?

I don't think a fast trip is the agenda... else he'd not be doing the 'Tourist Trek'...
Likely aiming for minimum 10 weeks for the trip... if the weathers kind..

If he's only missing Bermuda, he can spend more time in Ireland if he takes the 21-30 day straight shot...and the South and west coast of Ireland is amazing cruising grounds. Looks like we should have a great summer as the spring was bitter cold. A reversal to the last four years....
Edit: notice start and expected end dates....no cruising there...

Sry mate, meant the stretch to Horta, not the whole run! And the rhumb line route to Horta, not the northerly route...

SMX - Horta - Cork is roughly 3300 miles.. as the Gannet flies..
SMX - Bermuda - Azores - Cork your looking at 4000+
Average 120/day (if maintainable) is 33.33 days... no stops..
Yup.. he's not cruising... delivery methinks.. by owner

While we are hijacking this thread....
Have you done the straight shot, aka southerly route, to the Azores?
I am looking to take my boat, sadly on the hard for some time, from Trinidad to Horta. Read a couple of passage reports and as my boat points very well and has good diesel reserves this seems a better, faster and safer route?

Re: Caribbean to Ireland
Hi,
I'm actually in St. Maarten with my girlfriend.
We are looking for a passage to europe anywhere you like.
I've been sailing since I was child and I have more than 12000 Nm working professionally.
I hold a RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and STWC95 basic training certificates.
My girlfriend has been on board with me several times, she's doesn't get seasick, she's very passionate and eager to learn.
We are both easygoing and always willing to give a hand.
Please mail me as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Matteo

This route is so nice I've done it twice solo... buga following Hurri Alley to Bermuda...
A 321 and a 331... 25 and 21 days to Horta... 331 in April and the 321 in June... no problems used the Geni and reefed main the whole way..
As Atoll says.. may get a couple of days calms.. I tend to wait for the weather to catch up...
