Am a very interested in joining you for a couple of weeks , wife and I are both 53 looking at taking early retirement and going sailing. Have only limited experience all on monohull so need to see how the cat performs.
How would finances work?
How flexible are dates?

Hi. Just signed up to this forum and seen your post. My wife and I own a Beneteau 343 out on the West Coast of British Columbia and have it in Charter Service with Desolation Sound Yacht Charters in Comox, B.C. We crewed on a 48' Cat from Anacortes, Wash to Bermuda for 10 days in 2008 and have chartered a 34' cat in 2009 with some friends on our West Coast. I am 57 and my wife is 56 and fairly fit. I have been retired for three years from being a Operator at a Chemical Plant in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and am fairly handy with most items. I have a part time job driving hotshot and very active with our Fish and Game Association. We still have a 17 year old daughter at home and she will be graduating from Grade 12 in June.

Just adding to previous reply.
Am at crossroads as to buying monohull or catamaran.
Spent 2 weeks last year on a monohull in Greece now it is turn for a cat.
Experience before that was when we sailed Cape Town Brazil Carribean ending up in Marthas Vineyard about 30 years ago , being planning retirement ever since.

Would you consider assisting a couple of young 60 somethings who usually holiday sail a variety of monohulls around the Med. In June we are chartering a Broablue 385 from Bodrum and would really appreciate some familiarization as crew before we go it alone!

• RYA Day Skipper (Tidal) qualified and my wife has Comp Crew.
• Property renovator, so very practical and flexible with time.
• Solvent!
• Non smokers, social drinkers.Both cook.
• Could be available for a couple of weeks early, mid April to assist in re-launch.

Also costs are being worked out, Greece has just announced they are awaiting a November government approval of their 400 Euro plus fine that they plan on introducing for next years cruisers that dare visit their country.

Where can I find that info, we are planning the same trip
